Tyler D. Avon is an associate attorney at Marotta Blazini Dunleavy, LLC, where his practice includes family law and estate planning, administration, and litigation. Known for his down-to-earth approach and strong work ethic, Tyler is committed to helping clients navigate difficult legal situations with honesty, compassion, and practical guidance.
Raised in a middle-class, working family with two siblings, Tyler understands the pressures everyday people face when dealing with legal challenges. He brings that perspective to his practice, prioritizing clear communication, practical solutions, and respect for every client’s time, resources, and goals.
Tyler is a firm believer in public service and leads by example, having spent nearly a decade as a volunteer firefighter with the Maywood Fire Department. Serving his community in this capacity strengthened Tyler’s dedication to helping others during times of crisis and reinforced the values of teamwork, accountability, and service. That same dedication to the community is the backdrop for Tyler’s relationships with clients and informs his legal practice in every way.
Tyler earned his law degree from Rutgers Law School in Newark, where he received the Chancellor’s Award for Diversity, Inclusion, and Civic Engagement. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2022, Tyler is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Bergen County Bar Association, and the Passaic County Bar Association. He also participates in the Pashman Inn of Court and was a member of the Croland Inn of Court (2024), professional organizations focused on mentorship and trial advocacy. Tyler was also named as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2025. The designation means that he is a top-rated attorney as recognized by peers. Tyler was also named as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2025 and 2026.
Whether handling a contested estate or a sensitive family matter, Tyler brings grit and professionalism to every case and empathy and an eagerness to make a difference for every client.
Tyler plays ice hockey to “relax,” and is a moderately fanatical Devils fan. He lives in Bergen County with his wife, Rachel, who has a PhD in Molecular Biology, and their toy cockapoo, Bean.
